We Explain Everything First
The purpose of your consultation with the doctor is to discuss your health goals and see if chiropractic is likely to help you. If it looks promising, a thorough examination will help identify the cause of your problem.
Patients appreciate that we explain everything in advance!
Your first visit will take about 45 - 60 minutes. If you’ve already completed your admitting paperwork, great! If not, you will be asked to spend 5-10 minutes doing so. You will first receive a brief tour of the office and then watch a short video while we get your file ready. Next, Dr. Sells will see you and ask you about your health concerns in detail. He will then discuss exactly what he will be doing to get you to a better place health-wise. You will be evaluated with these steps: (Girls will put on a modest full length gown that exposes only the spine, guys will remove their shirts. Large private dressing rooms are provided.)
1. You will receive a thorough examination including Orthopedic/Neurological tests, Range of Motion evaluation and vital signs. Your spine will be "palpated" or touched to find any area of tenderness, swelling, muscle spasms, etc.
2. Dr. Sells will then perform a three part computerized stress test. This will be done using the most sophisticated piece of diagnostic equipment available to members of our profession the Insight Millennium Subluxation Stationä According to Dr Sells, this state-of-the-art technology objectively analyzes the function of the spine and nervous system, which cannot be seen on X-ray. The Insightä Millennium features three different and distinct tests, which will safely and accurately document and monitor his patients so that they receive the specific care necessary for improved health and nervous system function. Since the nervous system is the most important system in the human body, it is important to have it checked periodically.
3. Finally, when necessary, Dr. Sells will X-Ray your spine to best determine how to best adjust you.
4. After your X-Rays are taken, you will be escorted to one of our 3 "Comfort Zones" and placed on a relaxing table. Here you will receive 10 minutes of Electrical Muscle Stimulation, along with ice or moist heat.
Dr. Sells will then recommend the next visit time, things you can do at home, and ice/heat directions.
