Oklahoma City Chiropractor Dr. Shandy Sells

"My friends always thought I was crazy, but I loved going to the chiropractor!"

"As a young man, I spent hours traveling to different doctors with my parents to help my chronic low back pain. The only treatment that did relieve my back pain and disc problems was chiropractic adjustments coupled with spinal decompression. Well as you can guess, I liked it so much that I made it my career."

Oklahoma City ChiropractorDr. Sells completed his undergraduate studies at Northwestern & Oklahoma State University and received his doctorate of chiropractic degree from Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas, Texas in 2001. Chiropractic school was very challenging and rewarding. Courses included biochemistry, a major emphasis on anatomy and human physiology, x-ray, diagnosis, chiropractic adjusting techniques and patient care in the Parker College Health Centers. Dr. Sells asks, "Did you know that as a chiropractor, I have taken more coursework in nutrition than any other type of physician?"  In addition, Dr. Sells has over 120 hours of acupuncture training.

"I work with people of all ages. Children love coming to my office. No shots! No drugs! Chiropractic care benefits everyone. Our office educates our patients on living an overall healthy life style through nutrition, exercise, quality sleep, and preventive maintenance health care. In my practice, I try to make each person feel very comfortable. I guarantee the treatment you receive is the same I would give to a family member."

Dr. Sells' pet, Josey Wales.Dr. Sells has one daughter, Madison age 12, and of course a family dog, Josie, a one-year-old black lab. Outside of the office, he enjoys playing disc golf, hiking/camping, hunting/fishing, watching OSU athletics, and simply spending time outdoors!

"For most people (myself included) regular adjustments include a weekly spinal check for subluxations. Some people visit once or twice a month — whatever fits your health.

The human body is amazing. It has the power and ability to heal itself naturally without drugs or surgery. I've been receiving regular chiropractic adjustments for so many years, I can't imagine a life without them."

Dr. Sells Asks some important questions of interest to Oklahoma City residents - Chiropractor Oklahoma City Dr. Sells Asks...

Can someone who has had back surgery receive chiropractic care?
Yes. Rest assured that we will avoid the surgically modified areas of your spine. However, what we find is that surgical interventions will often produce spinal instability above or below the involved level. This is will be the focus of your chiropractic care.
What's the difference between maintenance, prevention and wellness?
Maintenance chiropractic care is an attempt to keep a dynamic, ever-changing and adapting organism (you) in a static relationship with your environment. Preventive chiropractic care is mostly about early detection. Wellness chiropractic care is an attempt to optimize our health and be all that you were designed to be.
